Think Before You Drop

Hold on to what you've got.

That’s the advice to undergraduate students who consider lightening their course load. Students are not allowed to drop more than a total of six courses while they are enrolled in an undergraduate program. The new Six Drop law went into effect at the start of the fall 2007 semester. The rule applies to courses dropped at public institutions prior to transferring to RGC. College credit dropped while enrolled in high school and below college credit courses do not count toward the total of six courses. Any student who drops a course after the official reporting date of the term will receive a grade of WX. A student who drops a course and who has reached a total of six WX grades will receive a grade of F in all future drops. Illness, family emergencies, military duty, work schedule changes and financial setbacks are considered in waiving the Six Drop rule.
