Admission to the School Administration program will be based on Full Admission to the Graduate School. All students must complete EDUC 5307 in the initial 15 sch.
Probationary Certificates
Probationary Certificates for school administrators are available for the following positions:
- Assistant Principal
- Principal
- Superintendent
Requirements: the appropriate probationary certificate shall be issued upon the recommendation of a college/university to a person meeting the following requirements:
A. Probationary Assistant Principal
- Holds bachelor's degree.
- Holds a Provisional Teacher Certificate.
- Has three years creditable classroom teaching experience.
- Has a minimum of 12 graduate hours of the common administrative core required or theProfessional Administrator Certificate.
- Is admitted to the professional administrator's program of this institution.
B. Probationary Principal
- Holds a master's degree.
- Holds a Provisional Teacher Certificate.
- Has three years creditable classroom teaching experience.
- Has a minimum of 12 graduate hours of the common administrative core required for the Professional Administrator Certificate.
- Is admitted to the professional administrator's program of this institution.
C. Probationary Superintendent
- Holds a Professional Administrator Certificate.
- Is admitted to the Professional Superintendent's program of this institution.
Validity of Probationary Certificates
- Each Probationary Certificate is valid for a period of three years.
- The Probationary Certificate is non-renewable.
