Minutes for Aug. 29

Dr. Randal Stitts called the meeting of the SRSU RGC faculty senate to order Friday, August 29, at 9:05 a.m.

In the first order of business, the senate unanimously elected Dr. Ferris Byxbe president. Dr. Greg Stone nominated him and, in Dr. Byxbe’s absence due to illness, assured the senate that Dr. Byxbe had said he would be glad to serve. Dr. Robert Overfelt seconded the motion.

The senate also re-elected Dr. Don Walden as secretary. Dr. Tim Wilson made the motion, and Dr. Overfelt seconded it.

The senate has also submitted the following names of people to be members of committees:

Commencement – Dr. Robert Overfelt.

Financial Assistance Appeals – Dr. Terry Carson and Dr. Dan Foley.

Graduate Council – Dr. Ferris Byxbe and Dr. Randal Stitts.

Registration – Dr. Greg Stone

Research Enhancement

Dr. Tim Wilson to represent the Department of Education

Dr. Ferris Byxbe to represent Liberal Arts

Dr. Randal Stitts to represent Business

Scholarship – Dr. Wesley Winn and Dr. Efrain Adames

Student Service Fee Advisory – Dr. Monica Gutierrez and Dr. Michael Cass

Undergraduate Registration/Retention – Dr. Tim Wilson, Dr. Terry Carson, and Dr. Patricia Nicosia
