The vice president of Rio Grande College is the chief administrative officer of the SRSU Rio Grande College and is directly responsible for the administrative management of Rio Grande College. The vice president of Rio Grande College
reports directly to the president of Sul Ross State University.
The dean, the chief academic officer of Rio Grande College, is responsible to the vice president for academic affairs for programmatic issues and coordinates administrative issues with the vice president of Rio Grande College. Rio Grande College has four areas: the departments of business administration, liberal arts and teacher education, each headed by a chair; and the area of nursing education headed by a director.
The academic chairs are Terry Carson, business administration; Barbara Tyler, education; and Robert Overfelt, liberal arts. There are 23 faculty members.
The other administrative officers, reporting to the vice president, include the director of admissions and records, director of business operations, assistant director of financial assistance, director of institutional research and effectiveness, director of public and media relations and director of student affairs.
