The Department of Liberal Arts combines several related academic disciplines into one administrative unit. The department offers the bachelor of arts degrees in history, English, Spanish, social science and psychology. The bachelor of science is offered in criminal justice and in mathematics.

The department also works with the Department of Education to offer course work leading to teacher certification. In addition, course work is offered in geography, political science and linguistics.

Students majoring in liberal arts programs must also participate in the assessment study. Each student should consult their advisor about specific requirements for their major. Each major will take an assessment examination in the last semester prior to graduation.
